Five Guys to open 2 new restaurants – on island loved by UK tourists | Travel News | Travel
Five Guys will make its debut in the Balearic Islands this spring, with the iconic burger chain set to open two new restaurants in Majorca. Locals and tourists will be able to enjoy the brand’s renowned burgers and fries at two of the holiday island’s most popular areas – Magalluf and Palma.
The first venue will open at Carrer Blanc 3, next to the Momentum Plaza shopping centre and the Meliá ME Hotel in Magaluf, and is to feature more than 1,600 square feet of indoor seating and a 1,300-square-foot outdoor terrace, accommodating 96 guests. In Palma, the restaurant will be opened opposite the port on the newly refurbished seafront promenade, a short distance from the iconic Hotel Victoria. This venue will offer nearly 3,500 square feet of indoor space, a 323-square-foot terrace and seating for around 100 people.
According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, both locations will offer the full range of Five Guys services, including self-order kiosks in multiple languages and click and collection options – a major win for customers to enjoy their meals at the beach or on a boat offshore. Delivery will also be available.
Daniel Agromayor, Managing Director of Five Guys Spain and Portugal, said in a statement: “Bringing the Five Guys experience and our fresh, high-quality food to the Balearic Islands has been a long-standing ambition. We’re thrilled to make it happen with openings in two of Mallorca’s key locations.
“As we celebrate our tenth anniversary in Spain this year, it’s fantastic to extend our offering to fans in the islands. We see this as just the beginning of our journey in the Balearics.”
Five Guys has significantly expanded in Europe in recent years, reporting a total revenue of £543 million for 2023 across the UK, France, Germany and Spain, with 256 operating locations and 9,000 employees by the end of that year. In Spain specifically, the chain recorded £70.6 million in revenue in that year. This grew to £79.1 million last year, according to CityAM.
Majorca is home to dozens of fast-food options, with at least 13 Burger King locations in Palma alone, as of 2024. Other major international chains like McDonald’s, KFC and Subway are also present across the island, particularly in popular tourist spots, including multiple locations at Palma Airport. In fact, one of Europe’s largest McDonald’s is located in Majorca, at 10,765 square feet, which opened inside the airport in May 2025.
As of mid-2025, there are also at least four Five Guys locations in the province of Malaga on the mainland alone, focused on the Costa del Sol area. Key locations include the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, which opened in 2021 and in Marbella town centre on Avenida Ramón y Cajal.
