‘Forget Spain and Greece – go to the ‘Bali of UK’ instead’ | UK | Travel
A Brit has shared what they believe is the UK’s equivalant to Bali, that doesn’t require flying halfway across the world to experience.
As the weather is warming up, and a mini-heatwave is about to hit the country, many Brits might be getting into the summer spirits and looking for possible holiday destinations.
While Spain and Greece being some of the most common travel destinations for Brits, with Ryanair having recently launched three new routes to popular holiday destinations, it can be difficult to decide where to go.
However, one person have taken to social media to share how they’d managed to find UK’s equivalant to Bali, meaning you don’t have to travel across the world to experience bright blue beaches.
Known online as Hols in Cornwall, Holly took to TikTok to share a video of a beach, taking from a cliff just on top of it, looking out on the bright blue water.
“Did I just find the Bali of Cornwall?” she wrote on the video, adding in the caption: “Stunning spot.”
The spot in question is the Lantic Bay on the South West Coast Path. It’s located near the town of Polruan and provides a great spot for paddling and picnicking, according to the National Trust.
The beach, which is owned by the National Trust, is located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is backed by imposing cliffs that you have to walk down in order to get to the beach.
People were quick to take to their comments to share their thoughts, with many agreeing with Holly about the beauty of the beach.
“My favourite beach” one person wrote, while another person shared: “That’s a hidden gem I’ve been there exposing the heavens.”
A third person said: “Approximately 2 min away from me, love it.”
“Was there last week was stunning got to see a seal,” a fourth person shared, while another person wrote: “Keep it a secret, don’t want people trashing the place.”
However, one person question Holly’s claim that it’s ‘just like Bali’ as they commented: “Tt’s beautiful but it’s no bali” to which Holsin replied: “Obviously, it’s Cornwall.
Another person said: “I wish Cornwall’s waters acctually looked that clean lmao.”
Holly also replied to this comment, saying she lives there and went on to verify that she always sees the blue water.”
