Google’s latest Android earbuds are down to £99 in surprise sale
Google is more than a decade into making its Pixel line up of Android phones, which have in recent years been joined by a range of Pixel Buds wireless earbuds. These in-ear headphones pair perfectly with Pixel devices but also work very well with all other Android phones and any other phone, tablet, laptop or device with Bluetooth.
The newest version is the Pixel Buds 2a, and in a surprise move, Amazon is currently discounting these excellent earbuds to just £99, which is the lowest price they have ever sold for, according to Amazon price tracker site Camelcamelcamel.
The Pixel Buds 2a launched not long ago in October 2025 as the cheaper version of the Pixel Buds Pro 2. The more affordable buds have a very similar design, available in hazel or iris colours with a white, pebble-like carry and charging case.
I’ve used both pairs of Pixel Buds and actually found these cheaper Pixel Buds 2a a better fit in my small ears. They are a smaller design with a wingtip that nestled nicely in my lugholes with a simple twist method, unlike the Pro model that I found hurt after wearing for a while.
Luckily, you don’t sacrifice much at all by going for the Pixel Buds 2a. They have active noise cancellation (ANC) so you can block out loud sounds such as traffic, cafe noise, plane engines or office colleagues and keep concentrated on your video call, music or podcast.
The Buds 2a have nicely balanced 11mm drivers for a good sounding audio across all apps no matter what you’re listening to. There is also a clever feature built in called Clear Calling that ensures your voice is picked up with greater clarity on phone calls so the person on the other end can hear you well no matter your environment.

When paired to a Pixel or any Android phone, you’ll also have Gemini at your disposal. You can ask for the time, to read your unread texts, search the headlines, tell the weather – anything you would ask a voice assistant or smart speaker to do, you can now do hands-free with the Pixel Buds 2a.
I’ve previously gone as far as to say the Pixel Buds 2a are the best noise cancelling wireless earbuds for Android phone owners, and I stand by that today. It’s true that by not getting the Pro model you lose conversation detection, head tracking, hearing wellness and a low latency gaming mode. But with the 2a at just £99, that’s so much less than the £219 Google is asking for the Pro that I think most people should spend less and do without those niceties.
You also don’t get wireless charging built into the case, but that’s no real bother. The Buds 2a offer IP54 water resistance so you’re all good when running or in the rain, plus with noise cancellation off you get up to 10 hours of listening from a single charge – good for most long haul flights – and 27 hours overall when you have a fully charged case to pop them back into to charge. Just five minutes nestled in the case gives you one hour of listening with ANC on.
Amazon says this is a “limited time deal”, so it;s best to take advantage of the deal as soon as possible if you want to bag these bargain buds.
