Harry and Meghan make surprise appearance together in ‘sombre’ clip | Royal | News
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have appeared in a brand new video for the first time since Donald Trump’s election.
Published on their Archewell Foundation website they discussed tackling the importance of addressing digital violence to prioritise children’s safety in today’s connected world.
Meghan said: “My husband and I recognise today’s reality is marked by greater connectivity and advanced technology, which of course has many positives, but which also compels us to better understand how digital violence against children is manifesting itself in this age.”
They are both seen wearing poppies in the clip which is an act of remebrance to soldiers in Harry’s home country of Britain.
Fans of the Sussexes left their thoughts in the comments. One said: “Missed seeing them.”
Another said: “My favourite humanitarian duo.”
A third called Harry and Meghan “my King and Queeen.”
This is the first time the Sussexes have spoken since Mr Trump was reelected.
Mr Trump returns to the White House at a time when Prince Harry‘s visa application is coming under scrutiny.
Harry admitted in his book Spare that he has previously used cocaine, smoked marijuana, and experimented with magic mushrooms when he was younger.
A right-wing think tank called the Heritage Foundation launched a legal effort to have Harry’s visa application made public, but a US judge denied the request.
Earlier this year, Mr Trump told the Daily Express that the previous administration had been “too gracious” to Harry.
He added: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”
These comments led to speculation over whether Harry could be forced to leave the US.
Since joining the Royal Family, Meghan has stopped wading in to political debates.
But, before Mr Trump first took power in 2016, Meghan described him as “divisive” and “misogynistic” as she appeared on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
