Horror as Al-Qaeda urges Muslims to slaughter Americans and Jews | World | News
An Al-Qaeda leader has issued a terrifying edict for followers “to eradicate the dual evil” of US citizens and Jews. Sa’ad bin Atef al-Awlaki is the head of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
The infamous terrorist has led attacks against the US in Yemen and kidnapped American and other Westerners in the country. The US government is offering a reward of up to $10million for information on the Islamist. In his latest edict, al-Awlaki urged Muslims to unleash a terror campaign against Jews and Americans around the world, as well as praising recent attacks.
“I bless and commend all the heroic operations carried out against Jews and Americans throughout the world,” he said.
“And I call upon every honourable and zealous Muslim, and every free, brave and noble person in this world to take the initiative and hasten to eradicate the dual evil – Jews and Americans – wherever they are found.
“For they are the root substance and filthy swamp of calamity and are the raw material and vile sed of evil.
“So congratulations to whoever inscribes their name on the list of glory and honour for their victory – to the best of their ability – against every drop of blood of the oppressed that has been shed, or every tear of a vulnerable child or woman that has flowed as a result of the tyranny and oppression of these two plagues called Jews and Americans.”
He also urged the Chinese government to cease its behaviour against Uyghur Muslims, warning that the group will “go beyond” targeting interests on land and sea if this does not happen.
Many analysts believe AQAP has become the most dangerous Al-Qaeda affiliate, since it emerged in 2009. Its main goals include establishing a caliphate in the Arabian Peninsula and implementing Sharia law.
The group also targets local, US and Western interests in the Arabian Peninsula and worldwide.
AQAP has attacked multiple embassies, as well as foreign tourists, using car bombs and suicide bombs.
It is believed to have carried out a lethal attack in 2013 on a hospital at the Defence Ministry complex in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen. At least 52 people were killed, including a relative of the then President Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi.
