A 30-year-old nurse was allegedly gang raped after knocking on the wrong hotel room door.

The incident occurred in Maharashtra state, India, with police arresting three men – Ghanshyam Rathod (27), Rishikesh Chavan (25), and Kiran Rathod (27), and Rishikesh Chavan (25).

The victim was reportedly visiting a friend when the incident occurred between 11pm on Wednesday and 3am on Thursday.

She was allegedly forced into the room, made to drink alcohol, and then attacked.

According to reports, she escaped the room in the early hours of the morning and filed a complaint with the police.

Police said the alleged offenders were tracked down after three hours.

They added: “The preliminary probe revealed that the accused trio are friends and had gathered at the hotel room to drink liquor. The victim mistakenly reached their room 205, instead of 105. They allegedly took advantage of the situation and gang-raped her.”

Police added that the victim is a nurse at a private hospital.
