With so many wireless headphones now on the market, it can be seriously tough to stand out from the ever-growing crowd. But the team at Cambridge Audio has done exactly that. The UK audio firm has just released its latest noise-cancelling cans, which are not only a little bit cheaper than their rivals but also offer some seriously impressive battery life. Having put the Melomania P100 SE through their paces, these things never seem to run out. In fact, they will keep the tunes going (with ANC switched off) for a whopping 100 hours.

As a quick comparison, the top-rated WH-1000XM6 from Sony can only muster 40 hours before running flat.

Even with the P100 SE’s Active Noise Cancellation on you’ll still get around 60 hours plus there’s fast charging included which offers an extra two hours of playback after just 5 minutes plugged into the wall.

Of course, battery life is important, but what about the experience when placed on your head?

Having worn them for a few weeks, the Audio Melomania P100 SE sound pretty impressive with music that’s rich, full of bass and packed with detail.

That’s thanks to P100 SE featuring a custom 40mm premium three-layer composite driver with neodymium magnets, matched with Class AB amplification. It’s the the same technology found in Cambridge’s award-winning CX Series hi-fi amplifiers.

And that’s not all. There’s also a seven-band EQ – that’s found in the redesigned app – which lets you tune things to your tastes. It’s a nice added touch as you can personalise the listening experience.

They feel premium when worn and offer plenty of controls so you don’t have to keep reaching for your phone to change tracks or pump up the volume.

They aren’t perhaps the most stylish cans I’ve ever seen (the Bowers & Wilkins P7 S3 win that prize) and there are definitely more comfy wireless headphone I’ve worn such as the Sonos Ace.

But those rivals cost way more than the Audio Melomania P100 SE’s £249 price tag.

Other features worth mentioning include multipoint connectivity, so you can easily switch between your favourite gadgets, and the latest Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced efficiency and reliability.

They also come in a number of colours including White, Black and a striking Blue. A tough carry case is also included along with a 3.5mm cable for plugging into physical music players and airline seats.

Are the Cambridge Audio Melomania P100 SE the best headphones you can buy? Definitely not.

Do they offer a swathe of top-notch features at a very reasonable price? 100 percent yes.
