Inside new-look Queen Elizabeth 2,000-guest ship after stunning makeover | Cruise | Travel

British cruise line Cunard has unveiled a refreshed Queen Elizabeth following a three-week makeover ahead of its highly anticipated Miami and Alaska seasons. The 2,000-guest ship has undergone extensive updates that blend classic Cunard luxury with modern comfort.

After completing refurbishment at Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore, Queen Elizabeth is now ready to welcome guests with revamped interiors, upgraded outdoor spaces, and the introduction of new dining experiences. Key areas such as the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Garden Lounge, and The Pavilion have all been revitalised. The Commodore Club, known for its signature martinis and panoramic sea views, now features stylish accessories and upgraded seating.

The Queens Room, home to Cunard’s famous Afternoon Tea and Gala Evenings, has been updated with a new design inspired by the Royal Palace’s mulberry trees, a tradition dating back to King James I.

Guests staying in Grills Suites will also enjoy enhanced interiors, new furnishings, and a redesigned Grills Terrace, which now offers double sun beds for relaxing while gazing out at Caribbean and Alaskan views.

For those looking to unwind outdoors, the Lido Pool Club has been upgraded to provide an upbeat poolside experience, complete with whirlpools and a bar menu showcasing local Caribbean rum and tequila.

More sun shades have been added to the aft deck to provide comfort in warmer climates.

A major highlight of the refurbishment is the introduction of The Pavilion Wellness Café, a concept first introduced on Cunard’s Queen Anne.

This health-focused dining venue serves fresh smoothies, grain bowls, and seasonal produce, making it easy for guests to maintain a balanced diet while at sea.

Meanwhile, The Garden Lounge, inspired by Kew Gardens, has been updated with new carpets, furnishings, and décor, creating a calm and airy space for guests to relax.

Queen Elizabeth will make history by spending a full season in Miami for the first time, offering roundtrip Caribbean cruises ranging from nine to 28 nights.

The ship will visit Montego Bay in Jamaica, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and St John’s in Antigua, among other destinations.

The ship’s first-ever Alaska season from Seattle kicks off on 12 June, while its inaugural 12-night Caribbean voyage from Miami departs on 16 October.

Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, said: “As Queen Elizabeth begins this exciting new chapter, we are delighted to offer guests an even more refined experience on board, with beautifully updated spaces that combine classic Cunard style with modern comfort.”
