James Middleton’s true colours as he responds to Princess Beatrice’s baby news | Royal | News

James Middleton has sent a sweet message of congratulations following the birth of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi.

The 37-year-old, who is the Princess of Wales’s younger brother, posted a comment under Edoardo’s latest Instagram post confirming the birth of Athena. The couple are also parents to three-year-old Sienna, while Edo also has an eight-year-son named Wolfie from a previous relationship.

Taking to the comment section, James – under his Instagram handle of @jmidy – simply wrote: “Congratulations [pink-heart emoji].”

James, who is also a father to a one-year-old son named Inigo, has become of the first known extended members of the Royal Family to congratulate the proud parents.

The birth of Athena was announced by the Royal Family’s official social media accounts on Wednesday. Sharing the same sweet picture of the newborn – which was taken by Edoardo – the proud father shared a post to his own Instagram account.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi.

“We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her. Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena. [pink-heart emoji].

“A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time.”

In the post shared by the Royal Family’s X account, it was revealed that Athena – who is thought to have been born a few weeks premature – weighed 4 pounds 5 ounces at the time of her birth last week.

Shortly after the initial announcement, proud grandmother Sarah Ferguson took to her own X account to share the happy news.

As well as sharingt the sweet picture of Athena wrapped in a pink blanket, the 65-year-old wrote: “Overflowing with love and joy to be able to welcome Athena Elizabeth Rose into the world. She is already so adored and I’m incredibly blessed to be a Granny once again. So proud of Edo, Beatrice and the rest of my little 5-a-side team! [red-heart emoji].”

Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie also shared the sweet picture to her Instagram story. Alongside the reshare of the picture, Eugenie included sweet gifs including a pink bow and ‘Welcome Baby Girl’.
