Jamie and Rebekah Vardy’s luxury Italian villa ‘raided by thieves’ | Football | Sport

Jamie and Rebekah Vardy’s Italian villa has reportedly been targeted by thieves who escaped with £80,000 worth of valuables. Vardy had been on the road playing for Cremonese during their 3-1 defeat to Serie A heavyweights Roma on Sunday when his villa was hit by raiders.

The Englishman, who relocated to Italy in the summer, moved into a villa on the banks of Lake Garda in the Italian Alps, where he lives with Rebekah. According to the Daily Mail, the three men fled with numerous expensive items. The report reveals the men stole watches, including a Philippe Patek timepiece, jewellery and cash that amounted to over £80,000.

A police source told the outlet: “We think the gang have been watching him and his family and timed the break in to coincide when he was away in Rome.”

Captain Giacomo Tessarolo, of the local carabinieri police in Salo, added: “We have CCTV which shows one individuals entering the house through a window that was left open.

“They were on the premises for several minutes before escaping with the watch and several other high value items. There was a woman inside, not his wife but the baby sitter.

“The theft was discovered when some of Vardy’s friends returned to the house and found items on the floor and it had evidently been broken into.”

Salo is situated just west of the scenic Italian lake in the Lombardy region and around 50 miles from Cremona, where he currently plays. Vardy made the move to Italy in the summer after his contract with Leicester, where he had played for 13 seasons, expired.

Now playing for an Italian side under a 12-month contract, the former Foxes star wore ‘Becky’ on the back of his shirt during a match against Roma, as part of a campaign against domestic violence.
