‘Jesus Christ’ appears in sky above church-goers after mass | World | News
A cloud formation that looked like Jesus Christ has stunned church-goers, who were left gobsmacked by the “beautiful” sight.
Footage of the cloud was shared to Instagram after it was spotted following mass in Naga City, the Philipinnes, on June 19.
The video was taken on the same day as National Youth Day, a Filipino holiday which celebrates serving community and country. But more aptly, it also aligned with the feast of Corpus Christi.
It was reseached by AccuWeather on Instagram, highlighting the phenomenon. Their post reads: “People in the Philippines were stunned when a cloud resembling Jesus appeared following a mass. “
Members of the public reacted to the “unbelievable” sighting – with some believing it’s a sign they are being watched over by a higher power.
The Instagram post has since racked up more than 62,000 likes and had many members of the public praising the appearance of a Jesus-shaped crowd.
One person wrote: “That’s fascinating, God loves Philippines.” Meanwhile, another believer pointed out: “Yesterday was the feast of Corpus Christi. So beautiful.”
Another who viewed the video believed it looked more like “Mother Mary” than it did Jesus. They wrote: “Looks more like Mother Mary.” A reply agreed, adding: “That’s what I thought at first too.”
A third wrote: “There are signs everywhere!”
Regardless of the spiritual meaning, some were left stunned by the cloud formation. They branded it “absolutely remarkable”, with one commenter gushing: “How beautiful.”
Not everyone was convinced by the wisp of cloud though – and some theorised it seems like Jesus Christ to some people because of the “comfort” it provided.
The user wrote: “Our brains are wired to recognize patterns and shapes in our environment so that our nervous systems can evaluate our surroundings and act accordingly. But if this comforts people, then I’m glad.”
Another agreed, adding: “Same phenomenon when seeing faces in power sockets and flower pedals, elephants in clouds, or ‘Jesus’ face in pancakes.”
It comes as recent discoveries of an ancient structure in Jerusalem align exactly with the description of Jesus’ tomb in the Bible.
The Daily Express previously reported the archeological dig development, with architects at the site of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem have unveiled the exact site described in the Gospel of John.
