Jingle Bell Heist cast and how to watch Bridgerton writer’s romcom | Films | Entertainment
Romantic comedy enthusiasts are set for a festive treat with Netflix’s unconventional Christmas offering, Jingle Bell Heist.
Penned by Bridgerton staff writer Abby McDonald, this unorthodox tale centres around a yuletide robbery unfolding in London’s bustling centre.
The film was helmed by experienced director of photography Michael Fimognari, whom romance devotees will know from Netflix’s beloved To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise.
The romcom follows petty criminal Sophia and handyman Nick as they embark on a dangerous theft, reports the Mirror.
Sophia relocates from America to look after her mum in London following a cancer diagnosis. But she struggles to meet treatment expenses, despite juggling two jobs.
The American newcomer turns to pilfering from her employer to fund surgery costs but is discovered by ex-security expert Nick. Rather than reporting her, Nick joins forces with Sophia to orchestrate the ultimate raid on a posh department store.
However, the pair’s blossoming romance soon threatens to derail their criminal scheme.
The synopsis reveals: “Forced into an uneasy alliance, as secrets surface and feelings for each other deepen, Sophia and Nick put their relationship and the heist in jeopardy.”
Jingle Bell Heist will be available to stream on Netflix this Wednesday, November 26.
The star-studded cast of Jingle Bell Heist includes Sex Education’s Connor Swindells as Nick, a recent divorcee who partners with Sophia in hopes of raising funds for his daughter.
Disney starlet Olivia Holt steps into the shoes of leading lady Sophia. Holt is renowned for her roles as Kim Crawford on Disney XD’s Kickin’ It and Skylar Lewis in the Disney Channel Original Movie Girl vs.
Monster.
The ensemble boasts Motherland’s Lucy Punch, BAFTA nominee Peter Serafinowicz, and Poppy Drayton, known for her roles in Downton Abbey to Father Brown.
Netflix fans can also anticipate appearances from fellow Sex Education actor Natasha Joseph and Supacell’s Michael Salami.
Jingle Bell Heist premieres on Netflix this Wednesday, November 26
