Lloyds Bank update over payment feature change affecting 10m customers | Personal Finance | Finance

Lloyds Bank has issued guidance for its mobile banking app customers. The bank provided the clarification after a customer reported an issue keeping track of their transactions.

The Lloyds website states that some 10 million customers use the mobile banking app. There are many things you can do in the app, such as making transfers between accounts and making payments.

You can also pay in a cheque or cancel a direct debit. Customers can also use the app to change their details, such as changing their address or telephone number.

The customer reached out to Lloyds to provide some feedback, having used the app for their banking. Writing on social media, the user asked for some new features to be added to the banking app.

They explained: “I use it [the mobile app] for a credit card. Please add two more balances in the summary as well as the total – Pending balance and Confirmed balance. Would help quickly track new (pending) transactions.”

‘Always refer to this’

Replying to the customer, Lloyds said: “Credit card transactions will usually appear as pending in the app. You’ll also see both a current balance and an available balance. Always refer to the available balance, as this is the most up-to-date figure.”

But the customer was not happy with this response. They retorted: “It’s not a matter of knowing my current and available figures, it’s about checking account transactions against receipts and checking against my own transaction list. A pending total would help.”

The bank thanked the customer for further explaining the change they would like to see. Lloyds said: “I completely understand why having a pending total would make it easier to match receipts and track transactions. We really appreciate you sharing ideas that help improve the experience.”

You can also view and download your statements in the mobile app. Another useful feature is you can view your card details, and if you have lost your card, you can report this in the app and request a new one.
