Drivers on the M25 faced huge delays on Monday, after four out of four lanes were shut down. The M25 was closed anticlockwise between junctions J10 and J9 due to a “police incident”, National Highways said.

Shortly before 11.30am, National Highways said: “There are currently delays of 1 hour against expected traffic.” Emergency crews were scrambled to the incident shortly after 9am. Police said the incident was linked to a “concern for safety” that was resolved at around 11:40am.
