The M4 was hit with delays near Reading and Newbury earlier due to an incident.

The AA flagged the incident on traffic news map, saying: “Severe delays of 42 minutes and delays increasing on M4 Eastbound between J13 A34 (Chieveley / Newbury) and J12 A4 Bath Road (Theale).

“Average speed five mph.”

But AA and National Highways maps now indicate traffic is moving freely following the earlier delays.
