‘Masterpiece’ gangster film that’s the ‘movie of the decade’ | Films | Entertainment

Gangster films will keep you on the edge of your seat, and this one is no exception. One fan on IMDb said this 2019 hit is the “movie of the decade.”

From The Godfather to Scarface, over the years there’s been a huge range of blockbusters but this more recent release is one fans can’t get enough of.

The Irishman (2019), is an illustration of Frank Sheeran’s life, from WWII veteran to hit-man for the Bufalino crime family. The film tells the story of his alleged assassination of his close friend Jimmy Hoffa.

On IMDb, one fan said: “Everything about this movie is perfect, from the acting to the cinematography.

“Yes, it is a long movie, three hours 20 minutes, but I can’t understand why people complain about that. This movie is an absolute masterpiece from start to finish. One of the best if not the best mob/gangster movie of my lifetime. The story is a journey, a complex journey, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.”

The Irishman is an American film directed and produced by Martin Scorsese and written by Steven Zaillian, based on the 2004 nonfiction book I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt. The film stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.

Scorsese’s film has a huge budget of around $159 million (£118 million), which made it one of the most expensive movies Scorsese has ever directed.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has gained an impressive score of 95%.

Another fan of the film penned: “If I had to pick one movie to watch for the rest of my life this would be up there for one of the finalists.

“It’s a long movie but it deserves every minute of your attention. I rewatch this movie when I’m bored, when I’m happy and when I’m tired. It just never misses.”

If you’re looking to watch the film, you can catch it on Netflix or Prime Video.
