Met aerial image shows numbers on Tommy Robinson march | UK | News

The Met Police has posted an image showing the numbers of people at a rally organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

The force posted the image on X saying it had made its way to Trafalgar Square.

The post said: “The march organised by Tommy Robinson set off from the Royal Courts of Justice shortly before 1pm.

“The front of the march is now at Trafalgar Square where a rally will take place. The rear of the march remains on the Strand.”

Morrison is hosting speeches after a concert with controversial actor and politician Laurence Fox set to speak.

Fox was earlier at the front of the march exclaiming: “this is our community.”

There have been fears of clashes with counter protesters from Stand Up To Racism after the group issued flyers saying its march would also end at Trafalgar Square which it is banned from doing under a police order.

But the Met post added: “So far there have been no incidents or arrests.”

Stand Up To Racism said they aim to “isolate…fraudsters like Tommy Robinson” who are “not welcome in London – or anywhere”.

On Friday, Robinson said: “If like me, you’ve been sickened by another week of imported crimes and riots, added to the already huge flames of our broken society, march with us.”

Metropolitan Police Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove said ahead of the demos: “The police presence will be very visible and I would urge anyone out and about in London, whether participating in these events or not, to speak to an officer if they feel unsafe or wish to report an incident.”
