Met Office issues yellow warning of fog as Brits warned of ‘travel chaos’ | Weather | News

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of fog for several areas in the UK. The nine-hour yellow warning comes into effect from Saturday night to Sunday morning, the Met Office has shared.

According to the National Weather Agency, the unsettled conditions are likely to cause travel chaos along withb a possibility of flight cancellation. It explained: “Fog patches will develop fairly widely on Saturday night and early Sunday morning, becoming dense in places leading to difficult travelling conditions. Visibility should improve from west to east overnight, with fog clearing from most areas by dawn Sunday.”

On Saturday night, dense fog in some areas could cause significant travel disruption. The Met Office has advised Brits to be prepared for slower journey times, as visibility will be reduced and transport services may be affected.

Bus and train services could experience delays, and there is also a possibility of flight delays or cancellations due to the poor conditions.

It stated: “If you’re planning to travel, allow extra time for your journey and check for updates from transport providers before setting out.”

Drivers have been urged to switch on the fog lights, and check they are working before setting off on their journey.
