Moment hit singer is electrocuted on stage as crowd watch on in horror | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Singer Carlos Suarez was electrocuted by his own microphone during a performance in front of a packed venue in Peru. The musician, who is part of the band, Mi Major Amigo Scott, began to shout and stagger backwards with his right hand still holding onto the microphone as electricity pulsed through his body. According to reports, a quick-thinking sound technician and another band member saved his life by disconnecting the cable from the power supply as concertgoers yelled, “The current, the current.” Carlos was rushed to hospital with first-degree burns in the Peruvian capital, Lima. Horrific footage shared on social media shows the star’s muscles tensing up as the electric current left him unable to move for almost 10 agonising seconds. He ended up yelling and, on the stage floor, falling over musical equipment in the process.

His bandmates were seen rushing to his side in the concerning clip as Carlos was motionless before suddenly jolting from the electric current.

Carlos addressed the alarming incident with his worried fans on Instagram hours later by penning: “What happened could have had fatal consequences. But I am okay health-wise. I have a couple of burns on my neck but no other complications, thankfully.”

He explained in further detail: “When I plugged my guitar into the amplifier, I touched the microphone and received an electric shock that paralysed me for about seven seconds.

“All I could do was scream and fall to the floor, where I continued to be electrocuted. That was when the microphone fell onto my neck and caused two first-degree burns, which fortunately were superficial, which is why my neck is bandaged, and I’m taking medication.”

He concluded: “But I’m pleased to say that apart from the burns to my neck, I am in good health, I am stable, and I have no complications in my body.

“I was conscious throughout, and although I was in shock, I was able to get back up onto my feet afterwards.”

The star, who showed his neck bandage while speaking to the camera on his Instagram, also stated he will be taking a break from live performances until further notice.
