Amazon Prime lovers will be pleased to learn of a perfect November movie that is currently waiting for them on the streaming platform.
Stuck in Love is a 2012 romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Josh Boone in his directorial debut. The indie film’s cast includes Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear, Lily Collins, Nat Wolff, and Logan Lerman. It focuses on the complicated relationships within a family.
The film’s synopsis reads: “Stuck in Love is a romantic comedy-drama about the Borgens family of writers—acclaimed novelist Bill, his ex-wife Erica, and their two adult children, Samantha and Rusty—as they navigate the complexities of love over the course of one year. The story follows the characters through various romantic and familial struggles, from Rusty’s first love and Samantha’s complicated relationships to Bill’s longing for his ex-wife, Erica, as she moves on with a new life. The film uses the family’s shared passion for writing as a way to explore their experiences with love, loss, and second chances.
Stuck in Love has amassed a respectable score of 7.2/10 on IMDb. One fan said the film was the perfect “cold November night flick”.
They added: “Stuck in Love is the perfect film to be placed in my November film category. This category is specifically for films that make you feel good, make you shed a tear or two and are full of clichés. ‘Stuck In Love’ is all of these things. I will start with the plot: The film is based on a broken family where the father, played by Greg Kinnear (typical dad actor), is still head over heels in love with his ex-wife, played by Jennifer Connelly. His two children, Sam and Rusty, played by Lily Collins and Nat Wolff, have responded to the divorce in different ways, and the film follows all four characters as they fall in and out of love.”
Another fan said: “I really loved this movie, I enjoyed every second of it! It actually has a meaning. It’s more than just a movie about family and love, and relationships. It’s not like any other romantic drama …I’m in love with this movie. I wish there were a book for this movie. I think that the reason I loved this so much is that it is so realistic. The characters are so rounded. The actors are so well picked, they really look like a family to me. They work together so well. One of the best movies I have watched in a long time.”
“Figured any movie with both Greg Kinnear and Kristen Bell couldn’t be too bad. Turns out I was right, it wasn’t too bad, it was an incredibly good movie. It’s a relatively straightforward tale of parents and kids finding their way in the world. The writing may be a bit heavy-handed at times, but the acting and direction are so good that you won’t even notice. By the end, you care about all the major characters and cherish that the film’s events have made them just a little bit better people. The ending was a surprise but somehow fitting, and the major feeling from the film is satisfaction. I think I’ll watch it again now,” said a third.
Stuck in Love is available to stream now on Amazon Prime.
