Mykhailo Mudryk has issued a reminder that he remains committed to his training regime, despite being sidelined from football. The Ukraine international is prohibited from training with Chelsea whilst he awaits the outcome of his doping case following an ‘adverse finding in a routine urine test’.
Mudryk has been absent from the Blues’ squad since November 2024 and is currently training away from Cobham with a private coach. The 25-year-old has once again shared footage of himself undertaking shooting exercises on Uxbridge FC’s 3G pitch, having been spotted at the non-league club earlier this month.
The winger posted a montage of goals to his Instagram Story, demonstrating his work with both feet, striking shots and directing a ball beyond a dummy. Mudryk now displays a fresh appearance, markedly different from the bleach-blond style many will recall.
The high-profile signing has been inactive for over a year following his provisional suspension after his positive test. Mudryk is facing a potential ban of up to four years, though the precise sanction remains undisclosed. The winger, who has strenuously denied the charges against him, is still waiting for test results from a ‘B’ sample.
Earlier this year, Mudryk urged supporters to maintain faith in him. “Happy New year to all my fans,” Mudryk wrote.
“I just wanted to say thank you for your support. I see all your messages and truly appreciate them, so please don’t give up on me as I not give up on myself. Can’t wait to see you soon.”
In November, World Anti-Doping Agency president Witold Banka indicated that his organisation was awaiting a verdict from the FA. “First of all, we are waiting for a disciplinary decision in his case (from the Football Association of England). As of today, we do not know when it will come,” Banka stated.
“Then, according to the anti-doping code, we will request the player’s documentation and will decide whether we agree with this disciplinary decision. We can appeal in two cases: if we consider the decision too harsh or too lenient.”

Mudryk was also referenced recently in remarks by Brentford owner Matthew Benham. The Bees chief, addressing the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, disclosed that Mudryk was amongst several players his club narrowly failed to recruit for modest fees.
“There’s always going to be ones you regret,” he remarked. “I was saying before that we could have signed Eze for £4m I think in 2019. We could also have signed Marmoush on a free about three years ago.
“[We could have signed both] for about £4m combined. The summer we got promoted to the Premier League, there was actually two players that scouted amazingly, amazingly well.
“One was Mudryk which was maybe a bit complicated if we signed, although we were quite close to signing him for a low fee, for about €20m. Eventually, he went for more like €80m though he’s currently serving a drug ban.
“Then Michael Olise, his scouting was unbelievable, out of this world but we just got promoted and we weren’t used to the crazy agent fees in the Premier League at the time.”
