Next James Bond odds favourite Callum Turner dethroned by new No 1 rising star | Films | Entertainment
Could 2026 finally be the year that we find out the next James Bond?
It seems likely, given that Denis Villeneuve was announced as director last year, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight on screenwriting duties.
The new 007 will be the first official one without the Broccoli family holding creative control.
Amazon MGM Studios’ reboot will launch fans into a new universe that never knew Daniel Craig’s deceased take on Ian Fleming’s character.
Callum Turner has been the bookies’ favourite for a few weeks now, having surpassed Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but now even he’s been dethroned.
According Coral bookmakers’ John Hill: “After a surge of support this morning, Jacob Elordi is the new favourite in our betting on the next James Bond. It looks to be a two-horse race between Elordi and Callum Turner, and punters are siding with the Wuthering Heights star to claim the role.”
As it stands Elordi is on 5-4 to be the new Bond, pushing Turner into second on 6-4. Also in the bookies’ race, which should be taken with a pinch of salt are the following: 5-1 Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 6-1 Henry Cavill, 8-1 Tom Hiddleston, 8-1 Theo James, 10-1 Anthony Boyle, 12-1 Harris Dickinson, 16-1 Jack Lowden, 16-1 James Norton.
