Nightmare for Andrew Mountbatten Windsor as petition on cusp of milestone | Royal | News

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been slapped with fresh humiliation after a petition asking the Metropolitan Police to investigate his links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein racks up almost 30,000 signatures. Andrew’s relationship with the disgraced US financier ultimately led to his downfall after he stepped down as a senior working royal in 2019. His brother, the King, axed his titles and honours last month, thus putting an end to his public life.

Now, a new petition started by a Londoner on Change.org has garnered more than 27,000 signatures and is calling on the Met to launch an official investigation into the former prince following their previous three reviews. A description read: “No one is above the law. Justice should not depend on status, power, or connections, and we’re demanding accountability, transparency, and the equal application of the law for all.”

Tamara, who created the petition, argued that justice must be applied equally to everyone, regardless of title or power.

She said: “These are real young girls (not women) who were abused at the hands of powerful men who believed they’d never be brought to book. I’m outraged. We should all be outraged.”

Andrew has, for many years, been dogged by allegations that he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre after she was trafficked by the financier. Andrew vehemently denies the allegations.

The former prince has agreed to leave Royal Lodge and is set to move to the King’s private Sandringham estate in Norfolk sometime in the new year as he begins his internal exile.
