Fresh off the back of Nintendo’s recent third-party Direct conference, the company is back with another presentation, this time dedicated to indie games.
The Nintendo Direct Indie World showcase event has been announced for August 7. The Indie World Direct will be broadcast live on YouTube at 2pm BST UK time.
You can watch the action unfold live right here by clicking play on the YouTube video below. You can also watch the event back after it takes place in case you missed everything the first time around.
According to Nintendo, the event will run for just 15 minutes and will feature a variety of games from smaller developers and publishers.
And it’s good news if you don’t own a Switch 2, because the Indie World Direct will spotlight games for the original Nintendo Switch, as well as the recently released Nintendo Switch 2.
The news was confirmed by Nintendo: “Tune in on Thursday, August 7th at 14:00 BST for a new Indie World Showcase, featuring roughly 15 minutes of new announcements and updates on indie games coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.”
In terms of what fans can expect, there is one game in particular that is top of everybody’s wishlist.
After years of making fans wait, Hollow Knight Silksong developer Team Cherry has been more active in 2025. The long-awaited sequel featured as part of a Nintendo Direct conference back in April, and was also shown during a recent Xbox event.
Needless to say, fans are hoping that the imminent Nintendo Indie World showcase event will contain a release date announcement for the Hollow Knight sequel.
