Father Christmas is gearing up to start his yearly trip around the world. As Santa is finishing polishing off his sleigh to start his journey with his reindeers, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) will track all his movements. 

The US-Canadian defence partnership normally monitors the skies for any security threats. However, for decades, in the run-up to Christmas Day it has also kept an eye on Santa to make sure he completes his journey. As usual, Santa will be accompanied by his team of reindeers, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen, all led by Rudolph.
