Norton school: Bomb experts on scene as Nattrass Primary School evacuated | UK | News

Police and bomb disposal experts have removed a suspected artillery round from school Norton, Teesside. The scene unfolded at around 10.50am at Frederick Nattrass Primary School, police liaised with bomb disposal experts at the scene.

Pupils and staff members were evacuated from the school as a precaution, along with members of the public at nearby business premises. The experts at the scene are worked to ensure the item was made safe.

On Wednesday afternoon, Cleveland Police said “Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team (EOD) colleagues have removed a suspected artillery round which was taken into school grounds at Frederick Nattrass Primary School in Norton this morning (Wednesday 26th March).”

Parents were urged to collect their children from the site in a post on Facebook shortly before 11:30am.

It read: “Please come and collect your children as soon as possible from the top entrance. Please do not come to the bottom gate.

“All children are safe and well.”
