Panic erupted at an elite school in Russia where a teenager reportedly went on an a stabbing rampage before taking one hostage. The teen, described as a 15-year-old by a local news outlet, reportedly wore a balaclava and a T-shirt reading “No Lives Matter” as he stabbed four people during the alleged attack.
Among the casualties were three students and a security guard, local media reports. One student died following the alleged stabbing attack the Uspeenskaya Secondary School in Gorki-2, a suburb of Moscow, local media reports.
During the alleged incident, the alleged attacker is believed to have gained access to school grounds by pepper spraying a security guard before stabbing them, local media reports.
Emergency services, including police officers, stormed the area as the alleged attack was unfolding. Footage from the scene, shared on the messaging platform Telegram by SHOT, a Russian news outlet, show a large number of armed police officers.
As police swooped in, the alleged attacker is reported to have stormed a classroom and taken a hostage, before barricating himself into the room.
Young people reportedly ran outside of the school without their coats and hid by the entrance, as the school was evacuated.
Medical personnel also arrived at the scene to provide assistance to the casualties.
