Paul Doyle’s dashcam footage from Liverpool parade shown in court | UK | News
People in the public gallery at Liverpool Crown Court where the Paul Doyle sentencing hearing is undergoing were left in tears and audibly gasped after “truly shocking” dashcam footage was shown. Paul Doyle was “starting to lose his temper” as he encountered a number of people walking in the road after the end of the Liverpool FC celebrations.
The dash cam footage played to the courts showed Doyle’s car making its way through the thick crowds, which part to allow him to continue along Dale Street. People are heard banging on his car in order to remonstrate with him, but Doyle speeds up, beeping his horn as he does so.
Children are seen jumping out of the way of his path. While driving through the crowd Doyle can be heard to say “f***ing p*****”. He then comes to a set of traffic cones and stops. He again says “f***ing p*****”, with crowds responding with chants of “w*****”.
The footage showed Doyle reverse slightly, before shouting “f***ing d***head, f***ing p*****”. The cam shows Doyle speed towards Water Street and crash into a man who rolls over the bonnet.
Around half a dozen people are thrown to the floor, but Doyle continues to shout: “F***ing move get out the f***ing way, f***ing hell. F***s sake move get out the f***ing way.”
A child is seen to be thrown to the floor by his car.
He again shouts: “Get out the f***ing way. Move. Move. Move. Move.”
A woman appeared to become trapped under the front of the car, but Doyle continued to drive forward.
There were gasps among the public gallery and many were in tears. One woman was sitting with her head in her hands.
