Maclaran explains the king’s suggestion, saying, “His mother, Queen Elizabeth II, had to travel a lot, and with transport much less efficient, he was left with a nanny for large amounts of time.”

“This will have made him particularly sensitive to the needs of his grandchildren so I think any advice he gives William will come from the heart. And, of course, with Kate still recuperating this balance is even more important to achieve.”

Princess Kate underwent planned abdominal surgery, and it’s predicted she will be home resting through Easter.
