Princess Anne sparks fan frenzy as adorable video with late Queen resurfaces | Royal | News

A heartwarming video of  Princess Anne has resurfaced on the internet, showing her assisting Queen Elizabeth II with a Zoom call during lockdown.

In the clip, filmed for an ITV documentary marking Princess Anne’s 70th birthday, the late Queen, then 94, made her first official video call from the Oak Room in Windsor Castle with her daughter’s help.

The video, uploaded on X starts with the Princess waiting for her mother to join the call.

After a few short exchanges among the people on call, the Queen appears on screen, dressed in pearls and a floral dress.

She greets her daughter back, saying: “Good morning. I’m very glad to have been able to join you.”

Princess Anne promptly ensures the app was working properly for her mother, and enquires: “Can you see everybody? You should have six people on your screen.”

When the Queen remarks that she can only see four people, Princess Anne playfully replies: “Actually you don’t need me you know what I look like!”

Fans have, since, poured in with love, calling the exchange “precious”, and Princess Anne a “gem”.

An ‘X’ user quipped: “It’s a scene that blends tradition with modernity, royalty with relatability and a touch of comedy with a whole lot of love.”

While another said: “I would have loved to be a fly on the wall for this lesson.”

“I remember this. It was both touching and humorous…typical Princess Anne,” added a fan.

One social media user wrote: “I’m not a royalist, quite the opposite- but seeing the Queen and her doting daughter interact was lovely.

“There will never be another royal like Queen Elizabeth. She is missed.”
