Princess Kate sends gift to hospital that treated her cancer | Royal | News

In a sweet and thoughtful gesture, Princess Catherine of Wales, has sent beautiful spring flowers to staff at The Royal Marsden – the hospital where she was treated for cancer.

Along with the flowers, Catherine penned a note: “To the Patients and Staff at The Royal Marsden, as spring arrives, these narcissi from the Isles of Scilly are to say I am thinking of you all. Catherine.”

The Princess of Wales became a Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust on January 14, 2025, joining her husband, Prince William, who has been President since 2007.

The Royal Marsden wrote: “A huge thank you to HRH The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden with HRH The Prince of Wales, for the kind donation of beautiful narcissi to display in our hospitals so our patients and staff may enjoy them. An incredibly thoughtful gesture.”

The images show members of staff treating cancer patients and in the photos, the bouquets of flowers are on display.

Fans have flocked to social media to comment on the sweet gesture. One wrote: “What a thoughtful delivery.”

Another said: “Beautiful gesture and thought. She is a pure, gentle soul and we are lucky to have her.”

One wrote: “My husband is currently being treated at The Royal Marsden and they have been absolutely amazing!”

In January 2025, Catherine revealed she was in remission from cancer. Cancer Research UK says the word “remission” means that after treatment there is no sign of the cancer.

In her previous message on social media, Catherine thanked the Royal Marsden Hospital for its “exceptional” care and for looking after her “so well”.

She added: “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more.”
