Indeed, it was announced back in February that “genre-bending architectural adventure” Blue Prince will join the PlayStation Plus Extra line-up as a day-one launch title.
It has since been revealed that Blue Prince has an April 10 release date, which means PS Plus Extra subscribers should be able to start playing later this week.
Judging by the early reviews, Blue Prince is the kind of game that’s worth subscribing for. At the time of writing, the puzzle adventure is sitting pretty with a 92% score on Metacritic. It’s been described as astonishing and a masterpiece, so make sure you don’t miss this one when it launches on April 10.
If you’re not a PS Plus Extra subscriber, then it’s worth noting that Blue Prince is available to purchase separately, and will also be available on Xbox and Steam.
Elsewhere, Sony has confirmed that narrative adventure game Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 2 will also be available as part of the PS Plus Extra line-up for April, and will launch with the other games on April 15.
Outside of the early announcements, subscribers have been attempting to predict the PS Plus line-up over on Reddit.
The prediction that makes the most sense is for The Last of Us Part 2. Not only is it a first-party game published by Sony, but it would coincide nicely with the launch of Season 2 of the HBO show.
Ubisoft open-world action game Star Wars Outlaws is also getting a lot of mentions in the predictions thread. Despite only launching back in August 2024, Star Wars Outlaws didn’t quite live up to sales expectations. A PS Plus Extra release would help drum up interest in the game, and potentially lead to sales of downloadable content.
Other high profile predictions include Final Fantasy 16, as well as Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Lies of P, Hogwarts Legacy, Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Mortal Kombat 1 and Elden Ring.
As for the PS Plus Premium games, it was previously suggested that PS2-era God of War titles could join the service. With the series recently celebrating its 20th anniversary, now would be a good time for some classic entries to join PS Plus Premium.
