Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry ‘dilemma’ as apology needed | Royal | News
It won’t be an easy road to forgiveness for Prince Harry after years of estrangement from King Charles and Prince William, a royal expert has warned. The Duke of Sussex has reportedly extended an olive branch to his father and brother in the form of invitations to the 2027 Invictus Games – but it could take more than that to repair his fractured family relationships.
Harry has not been on speaking terms with his relatives in the UK since the release of his tell-all memoir Spare in 2023, which lifted the lid on the royal family’s private life and appeared to air some of their dirty laundry. Now former Buckingham Palace spokesman Dickie Arbiter said: “There’s got to be a lot to happen between now and then. You can’t just brush everything under the carpet. There’s got to be an apology.”
“The king is sort of commander in chief of the armed services, and [The Invictus Games] would be a good fit and a good show for him to appear, but it’s a very difficult one,” he told The Sun’s Royal Exclusive podcast. “He’s been placed in a dilemma as to how to cope with this.”
