Royals release adorable Prince William birthday picture taken by Kate | Royal | News
Kensington Palace have shared a new picture of Prince William to mark his 43rd birthday today. The picture, which was taken in Windsor by the Princess of Wales earlier this month, shows the royal alongside their dog Orla and her four recently-arrived puppies.
The caption alongside of the picture read: “Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies! [dog-paw emoji].”
The Royal Family’s official social media plaforms are known to share public messages on the birthdays of senior members of the family. Posted prior to Kensington Palace’s post, King Charles also shared a public message to his eldest son earlier this morning.
The King’s message, alongside a picture of William, read, “Happy Birthday to the Prince of Wales [red-balloon emoji] [party-popper emoji].”
Prince William was born on June 21, 1982, at St Mary’s Hospital, to the then-Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana.
The royal’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis – with his first name said to be a poignant tribute to Prince William of Gloucester.
Although Buckingham Palace has never officially confirmed the connection, royal biographers and insiders strongly support this idea.
The idea that Charles named his son after him was not only a deeply personal gesture but a symbolic one and a way to honor the past while shaping a new future for the monarchy.
It remains unclear how William will be celebrating today, but he spent his 42nd birthday last year with his two eldest children at the first night of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London.
The royal was seen dancing and singing along to the American singer-songwriter, with Princess Charlotte said to a huge fan.
