Ryanair issues Spain holiday warning as flights could be ‘delayed’ | Travel News | Travel

Ryanair has issued a flight warning for British tourists travelling to and from Spain today, Thursday, September 14.

An airline spokesperson said: “Some potential delays to/from Spain today (Thursday, September 14) due to thunderstorms.

“Affected passengers will be notified and any passengers travelling to/from Spain today should check the Ryanair app for flight updates before travelling to the airport.

“We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by these thunderstorms which are outside of Ryanair’s control and affect all airlines operating to/from Spain today, Thursday, September 14.”

Spain was also hit by thunderstorms earlier this week. Severe thunderstorms affected the towns of Nules, Burriana and Almassora.

Aemet, the Spanish meteorological agency, has yellow weather warnings for several regions across the country.

Tarragona, Valencia, Alicante and Castellon all have warnings for rainfall and storms in place.

The island of Majorca is also under a yellow warning for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on Thursday.

Each of the areas are popular holiday destinations for British tourists and flights could be impacted.

Several inland areas of Spain are also under yellow weather warnings, including Madrid and Segovia.

Ryanair passengers will be informed if their flight is affected by the weather but all passengers travelling to and from Spain should check the status of their flight on the app.
