Samsung’s iPad rival is on sale for a price Amazon can’t match
If you want to get your hands on a dependable Android tablet for streaming video and don’t want to break the bank, Argos has a great saving on right now on a popular Samsung Galaxy device.
Right now, you can pick up the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 with 64GB storage for just £119.20, a solid saving on its usual £149 RRP. That’s already a great price for the 8.7-inch screen slate, but thanks to Argos’s Big Red sale event, you can now knock a further 20 percent off.
To get the price down to £119.20, simply add the Galaxy Tab A11 to your basket on the Argos website. Then, when you go to the checkout page, enter the code RED20 in the promo code box, and you’ll see the handy discount applied.
At the time of writing, this total beats the £149 both Samsung and Amazon are selling the tablet for.
It’s obviously proving popular, as Argos says this tablet is the second best-selling one on the whole store website, with the retailer showing it had been purchased more than 50 times in the past 24 hours when we spotted the deal.
It’s not surprising when you see how much you’re getting for less than £120. The tablet is a fine alternative to Apple’s iPad, the cheapest model of which costs at least £329.
The Samsung Galaxy’s 8.7-inch LCD screen has a 90Hz refresh rate, which means video and text scrolls by a little smoother than on a standard 60Hz panel. You also get a microSD slot to expand the storage beyond 64GB if you need to store lots of music and videos on there – perfect for long car journeys to keep the kids entertained.

The Tab A11 isn’t the most powerful tablet in the land, but for streaming video, light gaming, checking email and browsing the web, it will do the job. You get Bluetooth, but if you don’t want the fuss then there’s also a headphone jack – something no modern iPad has.
Around the front is a 5MP camera so this tablet can also be used for video calls with family and friends around the world, and there’s an 8MP shooter on the back for the occasional photo or video if needed.
The built in speakers are also there if you want to huddle round those calls or Netflix sessions in bed, while everything is charged up via the included USB-C cable, though you’ll need a charger as there isn’t one in the box.
When you need to be on the go, the A11 only weighs 335g and is just 8mm thick, so it should disappear handily in most bags.
Whether buying for you or a loved one, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 for £119.20 is a great deal.
