Santander to close 37 more bank branches next month | Personal Finance | Finance
Santander is set to close 37 more branches next month in another blow to the high street. The decision comes as the bank responds to a drop in in-person visits, with more customers opting for digital banking services.
These latest closures join Santander’s list of at least 95 branch closures planned for 2025. In an official statement, Santander explained: “We last did a major review of our branches in 2021. Since then, our customers are choosing to use Mobile, Online and Telephone Banking more, and branches less.” As a result, the bank says it is adapting its remaining branches, with some seeing reduced hours, others moving to ‘counter-free’ models, and further closures expected as customer habits evolve. Here’s the full list of branch closures Santander has planned for July 2025.
Hundreds of ‘Banking Hubs’ have been launched to give customers who have lost their branches access to cash and services, no matter who they bank with.
