Sarah Ferguson speaks out on brutal snub from William and Kate as she felt ‘worthless’ | Royal | News

Prince William may not be Sarah Ferguson’s biggest fan these days as a result of scandals following her past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, but it appears that he has not been keen on his former auntie for a long time. When he tied the knot with wife Princess Catherine in April 2011, Sarah Ferguson was missing from the invite list.

While her ex husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and their two daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice attended the special day, Sarah did not. This is because she was not on the invite list, despite having watched William grow up.

The former duchess spoke about this in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2011, saying: “I was not invited, and I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Camelia and…the jungle embraced me.”

She continued: “It was so difficult. I wanted to be there with my girls, and to be getting them dressed and to go as a family.

“And also, it was so hard because the last bride up that aisle was me.”

Sarah, who also got on well with William’s late mother Princess Diana, also said that she felt “worthless” but was reassured by her ex husband Andrew at the time.

The former duchess also agreed with William and Catherine’s decision not to invite her to their big day, as she had previously been caught offering an undercover reporter access to her former husband for £500,000 – a scandal that pushed her into a negative spotlight once again.

While William and Catherine do not publicly make any comments about Sarah, it is believed they try to keep distance from her and Andrew, especially over the last few months as Sarah and Andrew have found themselves entangled in yet more scandals.

William and Catherine’s desire to distance themselves from Sarah and Andrew was shown just months ago outside the funeral of the Duchess of Kent, when they tried to avoid conversing with them.

It is also believed William was actively involved in conversations to remove the divorced couple from Royal Lodge in Windsor.
