Sky has already added Disney+ to some plans for free, now there’s another boost launching today. The all-new HBO Max streaming service is now available in the UK, and some Sky customers are getting access without paying a penny for the privilege. Anyone with a Sky Ultimate TV package will now be able to watch shows such as Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, Succession and Young Sheldon without having to fork out a £4.99 fee.

“Sky Stream and Sky Glass customers with Ultimate TV, and Sky Q customers will get HBO Max Basic with Ads included as part of their Sky subscription,” Sky confirmed.

“Serving up unmissable HBO drama, including fan-favourite shows like Succession and The Wire, as well as new productions like the 2025 Emmy and Critics Choice Award Winning Max Original The Pitt, and a selection of Warner Bros. movies. “

If that sounds enticing, then it’s easy to get binge-watching. You can get HBO Max if you have Sky Ultimate TV on Sky Glass or Sky Stream Sky Signature or Sky Entertainment on Sky Q.

All you need to do is launch the HBO Max app on the homepage and follow the instructions to activate it. Once you are all signed, you can then view everything available on demand.

If you aren’t a Sky Ultimate TV user, you can sign up for that plan, starting at £22 per month (rising to £24 from April 1st).

That price includes over 130 Sky channels along with Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and the upcoming Hayu platform which launches later this year.
