Surprise Amazon Kindle deal offers you the ultimate upgrade for much less

If you love being able to carry around your entire reading library on one device and also like the idea of having a digital notebook, the good news is there are gadgets out there that can do this. One of the most popular is the Amazon Kindle Scribe, the largest Kindle model that can be used with a stylus to annotate e-books or create scores of your own personal notebooks.

Right now, Amazon is discounting the ultimate Kindle Scribe bundle, which gets you the 16GB Scribe, an official Amazon case, and a power adapter, all for £327.58. That’s a huge £126.39 discount on the bundle’s usual RRP of £467.97 – and £52.42 less than buying the Kindle Scribe outright. At the time of writing, it was listed on its own as £379.99

Amazon says this is a “limited time deal”, so it’s not clear how long this deal will last.

I’ve used the Kindle Scribe, and though it takes a while to get used to the big 10.2-inch screen compared to smaller options, once you get used to it you might wonder how you ever read on a dinky little display before.

You can adjust the text to the size you prefer, and it also means you don’t have to turn the page as often. With the included pen, you can annotate any book that you buy just like you would scribble in the margins of a paperback.

The software cleverly opens a box for you to write in and text falls in around it, so you can go back and clearly see what you’ve written.

But as well as helping with your reading or studies, the Scribe can also be used to create and keep notebooks. Whether you want a to-do list for work, a shopping list for the week, or even want to use the Scribe to keep a journal, it’s totally up to you. The Scribe is incredibly versatile in this way, and it really helps that the battery can last for weeks, especially if you don’t need the screen light on all day.

Included with this bundle is also Amazon’s official Plant Based Cover, which should keep your new Kindle spick and span. The Kindle attaches magnetically, which feels premium compared to the plastic case on cheaper Kindles. The case also has a slot for the pen to slide into so you always have it to hand.

On its own, the Kindle only comes with a USB cable for charging, but this bundle also throws in a 9W charging brick, so you’ll have everything you need to get set up and powered on in no time.

This Kindle Scribe is the second-generation, 2024 model. Amazon is about to release the third-gen model, but it probably won’t bring too many upgrades that mean you have to spend the earth, unless you want this size screen in colour, as the new one will have this option.

But if you want a luxurious Kindle upgrade, or want to get your first Kindle and want to get a good deal on the high-end one, this limited time bundle looks like it fits the bill.
