Welcome to Express Sport‘s coverage of Indian Wells on Wednesday, with the tournament in California now reaching the business end. Today’s last 16 action is headlined by defending champion and British No.1 Jack Draper taking on five-time winner Novak Djokovic.

That match won’t take place until around 1am UK time, but it promises to be a fascinating contest. The pair’s only previous meeting came in the first round of Wimbledon five years ago, when a young Draper won the opening set before Djokovic came back to win in four.

Elsewhere, Carlos Alcaraz looks to continue his 100 per cent record in 2026 when he takes on Casper Ruud. The Spaniard has already won the Australian Open and the Qatar Open this year and holds a 5-1 record against his Norwegian opponent.

Meanwhile, Briton’s Sonny Kartel will be looking to continue her impressive run in the women’s draw. She faces reigning Aussie Open champion Elena Rybakina at around 11:30pm GMT.

Others stars in action on Wednesday include world No.2 Iga Swiatek in a repeat of the 2023 French Open final against Karolina Muchova. That should be one of the first matches of the day at around 6pm GMT.
