One must-see place in the area is Sigiriya, the Ancient Rock Fortress, which is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous landmarks.

A visitor on TripAdvisor said: “I recently had the opportunity to visit Sigiriya’s Lion Rock, and it was an unforgettable experience. The climb, though challenging with its approximately 1,200 steps, was well worth the effort.

April is one of the best times to visit the country due to its pleasant weather, where temperatures can reach up to 32C.

“If you’re up for it, I would also recommend following the path to the next peak since the views are even better from there.”

One of the best beaches to visit in the area is Bentota Beach which is home to clear blue waters and bright white sands.
