Sotogrande has long been a playground for the elite, attracting figures such as Prince Andrew, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, Prince Albert of Monaco, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, Eva Longoria, Hugh Grant, Lionel Messi, and former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Prince Andrew, the Duchess of York, and their family stayed in Sotogrande in 1995 and have since returned individually on several occasions, often attending the Sotogrande Polo tournaments. Sotogrande, located in southern Spain, is the largest privately owned residential development in Andalusia, with an average sale price of £1.6 million, placing it on par with other luxury global hotspots like Monaco.

Like Monaco, Sotogrande is a sought-after destination for the elite, offering luxury amenities, eight world-class golf courses, top-tier security, and multi-million-pound villas. The town hosts world-class sporting events such as polo, golf tournaments, and yacht racing, while its stunning marina offers direct access to the Mediterranean, making it a prime destination for yacht owners.

Sotogrande is not just home to luxury gated communities akin to Beverly Hills, but it also has a stunning marina which has all kinds and sizes of boats a total of 1,380 berths.

On a clear day, you can even see Gibraltar from the Port of Sotogrande and, in the distance, the cost of Morocco.

Between two continents and just 30 minutes from Marbella, Sotogrande has lots of charming restaurants, shops, art galleries and cafes.

The Levante Market at the Sotogrande Marina is another highlight with a lively summer night market and a Sunday market with colourful stalls offering antiques, clothing, local foods, and more.

Along its coastline, you can find concrete fortifications built in May 1936 as part of a defensive line against a possible invasion from Gibraltar.

An abandoned house located between Sotogrande and Guadalquitón beaches, has also become a tourist attraction due to its stunning location, with wild horses often seen nearby.

Sotogrande boasts several beautiful beaches including La Reserva Beach, the first and only private beach in Spain, located within the Reserva Club.

Sotogrande is home to many natural white-sand beaches including Sotogrande Beach, a beach with stunning views of the Gibraltar Rock as well as several private beach clubs like Octógono Beach Club with three pools, a tennis club and Trocadero Beach Club which also has two pools and a restaurant which offers fresh seabass and seafood, among other things.
