The gorgeous little UK city that’s even more relaxing than the Cotswolds | UK | Travel

The Cotswolds is a super popular tourist honeypot – and rightfully so.

The huge area spans five counties and each of them provide their own unique experience to those who visit – but there’s no doubt that visiting will most likely mean facing crowds, welcoming around 38 million visitors annually.

So if you prefer a UK getaway destination where you are guaranteed a more tranquil stay, there are options.

Minut, a company that provides products and services for the short-term rental market, used data to compare the number of noise complaints made to local authorities in 25 of the nation’s most popular destinations.

While the Cotswolds only received 6.9 noise complaints per 10,000 residents last year, the research found that there are spots that are quieter than the renowned destination that would also make a great alternative.

Despite being the most populous region in its area, the beautiful city of Bristol is the place to be if you’re planning a nice staycation in the UK but want to make sure you’re escaping the noise.

The research discovered that Bristol only had 5.6 noise complaints per 10,000 people last year.

The thriving city is one of the most visited in the UK and has a great number of things to boast about.

One thing it is highly praised for is its spectacular art scene.

In fact, Bristol was designated “City of Film” by UNESCO in 2017 and has since been part of UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.

Bristol’s stunning architecture is also worth noting.

During the mid-19th century, an architectural style unique to the city was developed, named Bristol Byzantine, and you can still find examples of it in the city today.

Its 3,800-plus Grade II listed buildings of various architectural styles are just a testament to the city’s cultural and historical richness.

The city was also designated as England’s first “cycling city” 16 years ago, and along with the many cycling routes it has to offer, Bristol has over 400 parks and green spaces perfect for taking a breather and embracing the tranquillity that life has to offer.
