The pretty UK city named the worst for commuters – and it’s nowhere near London | UK | News

The worst city for commuters in the UK has been unveiled and, surprisingly, the title didn’t go to London.

In spite of its overcrowded Tube lines and heavy congestion, the British capital conceded victory to Edinburgh.

Research by Capital on Tap found the Scottish capital led the top 30 most populated cities in the UK when it came to giving its commuters a hard time when it comes to travelling to and from work.

The study found Scots spend an average of 11.52 hours per week commuting in Edinburgh – or a whopping 75 days each year.

The situation is only partially made better when considering the average cost of a monthly travel pass in Edinburgh is £59.93, lower than other locations on the list.

Locals in both cities are estimated to spend an average of 7.3 hours per week commuting but Stoke residents are asked to pay around £15 more.

Topping the opposite list was Belfast, with an average of four days of commute per year.

Sunderland placed second with 33 days, followed by Leeds, Kingston-Upon-Hull and Sheffield completing the list.
