Tottenham next manager bombshell drops as Thomas Frank successor found | Football | Sport

Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement with former Juventus boss Igor Tudor to join the club until the end of the season. Spurs sacked Thomas Frank on Wednesday with the club sat 16th in the Premier League table.

The club are expected to make an appointmet sooner rather than later, with them next in action against Arsenal next weekend. Tudor, who left Juventus in October, is expected to replace Frank, with reports suggesting he has been identified as the chosen candidate.

The 47-year-old, who played 55 times for Croatia, has managed Udinese, Hellas Verona, Marseille and Lazio. He left Turin earlier this season with the club eighth in Serie A.

Tudor began his coaching career with Hadjuk Split in 2013 before enjoying spells with PAOK, Karabukspor and Galatasaray, before being part of Andrea Pirlo’s coaching staff at Juve in 2020.

Tottenham sacked Frank after just eight months shortly after the 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle United. The former Brentford boss had failed to win in eight league games, leaving Spurs just five points above the relegation zone.

Tudor is expected to move to north London on an interim basis until the end of the season. His primary task will be to keep the club away from the drop, with Spurs also in the Champions League.

Frank led Tottenham to the last 16 after finishing in the top eight. Victories over Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt in January meant Spurs avoided a play-off to progress.
