Sporting have once again reiterated their stance on selling Viktor Gyokeres and it isn’t good news for Manchester United.

The Red Devils are looking to add a striker to their ranks this summer, with former Ruben Amorim marksman Gyokeres said to be top of their list.

Gyokeres is keen to leave Sporting for the Premier League, but any club hoping for a cut-price deal can think again, as president Frederico Varandas has put his foot down.

Speaking over the weekend, he explained: “Sporting is very calm about Gyokeres. Sporting does not need to sell Gyokeres.

“We have already passed the stage where we had to sell our best assets. “We do not have to sell him. In the same way that we do not have to sell him, we are still sensitive to Viktor’s dreams.”
