A travel expert who’s been to over 50 cities in Europe, has named the one he thinks has the friendliest people.
Instagrammer, @Scottvisits, spends majority of his time on the road, which he then shares with over 100,000 of his followers. After visiting the majority of major cities in Europe, Scott revealed he felt most at home in Austria.
Located in Central Europe, the mountainous region Austria, impressed the keen traveller enough that he named it as ‘friendliest country’ in his recent Travel Awards.
On an Instagram reel titled: ‘After visiting every country in Europe, here are my awards’, Austria won him over.
Other awards were announced such as: ‘Best food – Greece’ and ‘Most beautiful – Switzerland’.
However many in the comments came to disagree with Scott over his verdict of Austria having the friendliest people. One wrote: “As an Austrian, I definitely don’t agree” while another wrote: “Are you sure Austria being the friendliest?”. I think it’s safe to say that many people did not agree with his rankings.
Despite people’s objections, the landlocked country is still one of the most beautiful. It’s largely covered by the Alps, making it a popular destination for skiing and winter sports, and also boasts beautiful scenery for hiking and other outdoor activities.
The country is also famous for its classical music, often dubbed the ‘City of Music’, with composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss hailing from Austria. It is also home to world-famous institutions such as The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera. They also host numerous cultural festivals, including the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna Opera Ball.
The capital, Vienna, is a top destination for tourists when visiting Austria, known for its rich history, imperial architecture, musical heritage, and vibrant cultural scene. Vienna consistently ranks highly in quality of life surveys, making it an attractive place to visit and even live. The city is also known for being walkable, especially in the city center, and has good public transportation, making it easy to explore.
