Tripadvisor has narrowed down over 1.6 millon hotels across the world to identify the highest rated hotels for 2025. It has revealed its top picks at its annual Travellers Choice Awards, with one found In London.

Over 100 UK hotels were named “Best of the Best” this year, with 11 making the world lists. Winners spanned 10 categories, including Luxury, All-Inclusive, and Pet-Friendly. An impressive hotel in Mexico claimed the top spot in the world, as well as the top spot in the All-Inclusive and Treat Yourself categories.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya in Tulum, Mexico, was named the number one hotel in the world for 2025. Reviewers were impressed by its spa and wellness centre, as well as its selection of pools. The world’s second-largest barrier reef sits just 150 metres off the five-star resort’s beach.

The wellness hotel boasts 434 suites, all contemporary-style rooms with private bathrooms and furnished balconies or terraces.

Vietnam’s Grandvrio Ocean Resort Danang came in second, closely followed by Gokulam Grand Turtle on the Beach in India.

The former is found on the famous beach between Da Nang city and Hoi An, one of Vietnam’s most beautiful. Offering stunning ocean views, this five-star hotel also offers private pool villas as well as a spa and a kids club. The Indian hotel is perched near the serene Hawa Beach, offering its visitors gorgeous views of the sunset and coast.

India was one of two countries to claim two places in the world top 10, the other being Chandys Windy Woods. The other to achieve this was the Caribbean, which claimed both fifth and seventh place.

The UK’s top hotel, St. Ermin’s Hotel in London, was ranked second in Europe and sixth in the world. Located in the heart of St James’ Park, the hotel is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. This four-star hotel is located at the end of a tree-lined courtyard and is pitched as a “relaxed haven from London’s bustling streets” by Tripadvisor.

Of the top 10 hotels in the UK, six were in London, with other top choices found in Oxfordshire, Jersey and Liverpool.
