Triple murder suspect Julian Ingram manhunt continues after a week | World | News

Police continue a major manhunt for an alleged shooter a week after three people were killed, including the suspect’s pregnant ex partner. The extensive search operation is being led by New South Wales police following the shooting that unfolded in Lake Cargelligo, a small town in Australia, on Thursday, January 22.

The force have released CCTV footage showing the alleged gunman, Julian Ingram, also known as Pierpoint, at a police station on the same day as the incident. Although it is yet to be officially confirmed that the footage is of the suspect.

Ingram carried out the attack at around 4.30pm when he shot at Sophie Quinn, 24, and her friend John Harris, 32 whilst they were driving a car on Bokhara Street.

The gunman then travelled to a house in the town and shot Sophie’s aunt, Nerida Quinn, 50, dead. He also shot at Kaled Macqueen, 19, on the driveway of the Walker Street property. Macqueen remains in hospital.

It has been confirmed that Ingram was granted bail for domestic violence charges against him. He is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 165cm-170cm tall, of a medium build with short dark hair and brown eyes.

In the CCTV footage police have released the man is dressed in a yellow and navy high visibility shirt, navy cargo pants, black boots and a red cap. He also has a number of tattoos on his arms.

A spokesperson for NSW police confirmed they believe Pierpoint to remain alive.

NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Andy Holland warned that the hunt is under “extraordinary conditions” as due to the suspected gunman’s position working for the council he “is aware where hiding holes are such as caves”.

Over the past week the police have searched a large number of properties and said that they are following several lines of enquiry, including investigation a man on a bike who would not stop for officers.

Holland urged anyone who may be assisting Ingram: “Think about the wider community. What he has committed here is an atrocity.”

It is reported that Ingram was granted bail in November of 2025 after allegedly assaulting Quinn after their relationship brokedown. He was charged with stalking or intimidating intending to cause fear or physical harm and common assault.

The suspect’s vehicle is also yet to be found by police. He was last spotted driving a Ford Ranger utility with NSW registration DM-07-GZ described as having council signage, a metal tray back, high visibility markings on the side and an emergency light bar on the roof.

Anyone who sees Julian or the vehicle is urged not to approach and contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
